Say “yes” to low back pain relief
What does low back pain prevent you from doing? Taking that hunting trip you’ve been looking forward to? Enjoying a swim with the kids? If back pain has been saying “no” to you, it’s time to return the favor by looking for an effective treatment, such as chiropractic care.
Say “no” to drugs.
For many low back pain patients, over-the-counter and prescription drugs are the first line of attack against aches and pains. Along with the risk of side effects and cost of repeated doses, medications don’t always relieve back pain symptoms. For instance, a 2004 study revealed that chiropractic adjustments were better at alleviating aches than placebo or muscles relaxants.
Say “no” to steroids.
In one controlled trial, steroid injections provided little or no relief for patients living with lower back pain. What’s more, many patients who receive steroid injection report serious headaches as one of the most common side effects. In other words, a steroid injection can deliver little or no relief and trigger a monster headache in the process—who needs that?
Say “no” to surgery.
Of course, there are some conditions that require surgical treatment, but for so many back pain patients, surgery may not be necessary. Always seek a second opinion when a physician recommends surgery.
Say “yes” to a professional chiropractor.
A professional chiropractor has earned a Doctorate of Chiropractic (D.C.) degree. Like other doctors, they complete a vigorous curriculum and complete a residency program. In addition, a chiropractic student must pass national and state board exams. These doctors are trained to make the adjustments necessary to relieve your pain.
Chiropractic care typically results in kudos from patients. For example, a study released in 2010 reported that 90% of patients who received spinal adjustments for low back pain described their improvement at the end of treatment as “good” or “excellent.” Another study found that chiropractic manipulation resulted in better function and more pain relief than other common back pain therapies.
